June 21, 2018: workshop ‘Due Diligence in your purchasing practices’

Purchasing practices of brands, retailers, agents and importers have a direct relation with potential social/environmental risks in the garment textile supply chain. Purchasing practices include price negotiation, sampling procedures, planning, terms of delivery and payment conditions. Poor purchasing behaviour of the ordering party can cause negative impact on how suppliers perform on labour conditions (e.g. child labour, employee retrenchment) and environmental compliancy (including animal welfare).

How to improve the purchasing practices of the company in collaboration with your supplier? In a short session Modint and Solidaridad will help you further in how to embed due diligence in your purchasing practices.

Included: a paragraph on due diligence & common goals to be used in your existing documents (in your supplier manual or code of conduct).

Especially interesting for: C-level, Management together with Corporate Responsibility manager/Buying manager.
